Finding your true passion - Mars goes Retrograde - what does it mean for you?

Mars goes Retrograde from 24th January 2012 to 13th April 2012 at 3° - 23° Virgo
Time to reassess your goals, ambitions and desires.

Do you feel as though you are running around in lots of different directions and not getting much done?

Are you stuck in a job you hate?

Are you feeling directionless?

Chances are that during Mars retrograde, any frustrations you’ve been feeling in your work or your relationships will be highlighted and you won’t be able to ignore strong emotions of anger, fear and resentment any longer.

About every two years and two months, when Mars is closest to the earth, it goes retrograde. What does this mean?

Mars is all about your energy, your passion, your drive, your initiative. Wherever Mars is situated in your natal chart shows where you like to put your energy. For example, Mars is in my fourth house, so I enjoy putting energy into my business and I love working from home. I need a great deal of space or I can get into arguments with family and people close to me.

Some of you will have Mars retrograde natally. You probably come from a family in which no one knew how to express their anger. You may internalise your emotions, so that on the surface you appear calm, but inside you are boiling up with rage and resentments. Or you may use passive-aggressive behaviour to get your way rather than being honest and direct about what you are thinking and feeling. You will have to work very hard at learning how to express your anger and to feel safe with it. The house in which your Mars retrograde falls will show where you bottle up your emotions for days, months or even years, and then suddenly you explode and cut yourself off from the situation. You feel anger inside but don’t know how to release it.

You won’t be comfortable with direct confrontation preferring to work alone or indirectly. For example, you would do well as a coach where you are encouraging other peoples’ energies and passions.

I had a client with Mars retrograde in Libra who found it too hard to fire any of her employees. She hired an aggressive guy who loved to fire people and that’s his job. So she put someone in between who could handle confrontations for her.
You might be accident prone so that when you stub your toe on a wall, or trap your finger in a door, you release your anger through a sudden jolt of physical pain.
You might have addictions such as drinking, smoking or gambling in order to suppress your anger. You may complain a lot rather than do anything constructive about your problems. You may also have a lot of angry people around you who are reflecting your inner frustrations that you are unable to express.

The good news is that you will not have Mars retrograde forever as all the planets progress during our lifetime. I had a client with Mars retrograde and several other retrograde planets in his chart. When Mars turned direct in his chart, he stopped gambling, he got involved in twelve-step recovery, he ended an unhealthy relationship and began studying for a new career! His whole life turned around.

If you have Mars retrograde in your second house you may have a sabotage pattern in relation to money. I had a client who worked very hard, saved all his money and then one day had an argument with his wife and on the spur of the moment took out all the money from his savings account and blew it on a new car. Then he had to start saving up all over again.

I’ve known clients with Mars retrograde in the fourth house who get along with family members for years and then suddenly have a huge argument and never speak to them ever again.
Mars retrograde in the seventh house finds it difficult to express anger or strong emotions in a close relationship. A seemingly small trigger can end a long-term relationship overnight.

If you have Mars retrograde in your natal chart, you will probably have to work very hard at learning how to express your emotions, especially your anger. You may also have to dig deeply inside of yourself to find out what your true passions are. You may be more involved with other people and supporting their passions rather than focusing on your own. When Mars goes direct in your chart, the whole process becomes much easier.

Now, let’s move onto this Mars retrograde coming up towards the end of January and how it will affect us all in one way or another.

While Mars is retrograde, it’s important to look more deeply at the things that you want. Your energy will slow down forcing you to take a closer look at your priorities and your actions. You might be going from one thing to another mindlessly without a true direction that’s deeply fulfilling to you. It’s an opportunity to ensure that you’re pursuing the goals that really matter to you. Become aware of your short-term and long-term goals. Use this three month period to find out what you truly want and why.

Maybe you’re in a job where you’re working very hard, earning money, but not enjoying what you are doing as you only intended to stay in that particular job for a very short time. During this Mars retrograde you might make plans for a new direction in your career which is going to be more gratifying for you.
Whatever your current situation, Mars retrograde gives you an opportunity to regroup and to plan a new course of action, especially in the areas of life that are highlighted by its house placement in your chart.

You may need to turn to a trusted person that you can confide in to talk things through. For example a therapist, counsellor, mentor, friend, family member. It can be very helpful to process and understand what is happening to you and this can be difficult to do in isolation. Don’t let your pride or guilt get in the way of reaching out for help and support if you are having a hard time.

It’s a good time to examine your knee-jerk reactions to situations and people. Try to find healthy ways in which you can deal with anger and fear. Don’t be impatient, you won’t be able to unravel everything all at once. Progress comes in small steps and often you take a couple of steps forward and one or two back until it integrates with the deepest part of your being.

Mars can bring out all kinds of emotions: your desires, sexuality, passions, ambitions, drives – especially those that have been suppressed or undeveloped. Circumstances and interactions with other people may trigger these impulses to the surface. Although this probably won’t be a comfortable experience, it is a wonderful opportunity to work with these areas in a new way so you can heal, release and integrate buried emotions and ambitions.

Mars energy can be dangerous, after all it’s a Fire sign and it rules wars, warriors and conflict. Just like a real fire, it can be harmful and can wreak havoc in a short space of time when it’s out of control. It’s important to handle Mars energy with respect and with safety mechanisms in place. When it’s used wisely it can fire up great achievements and successes. If the energy of Mars is released suddenly and without a degree of control, the results can be damaging and destructive. If you release suppressed emotions too quickly this can create even more problems in your life. When Mars is retrograde, you have access to all of its potential and danger in ways that you might not normally allow into your life. The consequences can be exciting, inspiring, scary, disturbing, destructive, freeing or overwhelming. However, there is great potential for healing and for removing the obstacles that stand in the way of you and your desires.

If you find yourself becoming accident-prone, this Mars retrograde will likely force you to slow down and to pay attention to what’s in front of you instead of rushing around with a hundred different things on your mind. You may find that your energy is drained and you will have to slow down, take a break, be gentle with yourself and give yourself time to recharge your batteries.

Mars rules knives, sharp instruments, surgeons and scalpels. It’s not the best time to have elective surgery during a Mars retrograde. Emergency medicine is another matter, and of course you must seek medical help and if necessary undergo surgery in an emergency, but if you can avoid choosing to have surgery at this time it will probably to your advantage.

Mars is the planetary ruler of both Aries and Scorpio. The Aries part of Mars is easier to deal with in that you can take direct action when dealing with emotions. For example you might work off your passion, anger, frustrations on a physical level by going to the gym, taking a walk or going for a jog, cleaning the house, having sex – not necessarily in that order!

However the Scorpio part of Mars deals with the much deeper emotions that may need to come out. This aspect of Mars seeks to transform and heal a problem by digging underneath the surface and getting rid of hidden toxins. It works much more on the level of the psyche and may bring about a healing crisis where things get worse before they get better. It can take time and hard work before you start to see the benefits so don’t automatically assume that worsening circumstances mean that you are doing something wrong.

Make the most of this retrograde by researching and plotting your course of action, but don’t take serious action steps until Mars goes direct again.

Astrological Predictions 2012-2013

It’s not surprising that there have been so many prophecies about huge events occurring during 2012. We are still in the midst of the Cardinal Climax, Venus and Mars both go retrograde this year, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune all change sign, and a series of seven exact squares occurs between Pluto and Uranus from 2012 to 2015.

Last year, I predicted that once Uranus went into Aries we would see more revolts and more civil unrest. All over the Middle East and in Europe we’ve seen demonstrations, riots and discontent. The Occupy movement took roots around the world and I am predicting that this is just the start. There will be more violence, civilians will die, police will be killed and it will become more frenzied as the people see that their leaders are not really listening to them. The square from Uranus to Pluto will intensify the contrast between the majority of the people who feel they are being unjustly treated and the powers that be trying desperately to stay in control and to suppress the peoples’ wishes.

With Pluto in Capricorn since November 2008, we’ve seen an increase in natural disasters and with Uranus squaring Pluto I anticipate that we will see more disasters happening in the most unlikely places. I predicted more disasters this year and sadly that’s what we’ve seen with the series of earthquakes in Christchurch, the tsunami and earthquake in Japan, flooding in Thailand, the recent typhoon in the Philippines to name but a few.

With Neptune moving into Pisces on February 4th, there will be periods of utter calm, when it will feel as though everything is fine and there was nothing to be concerned about. People may ridicule you if you have decided to move to a safer area, or if you are preparing yourself and your family for a possible emergency situation. Don’t be fooled by this. Neptune is the master of illusion, so don’t allow your thinking to become unfocused. When you get the feeling of utter calm, like the calm before a storm, or just before a natural disaster when the animals disappear and the birds stop singing, that’s the time to be on red alert. Do not allow yourself to be lulled into a false sense of security.

With Neptune in Pisces until 2024, we’ll see issues coming up in politics around water. There will be more flooding than ever before, unexpected hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons and storms and towns and cities will disappear in the twinkling of an eye.

Unemployment will continue to rise, the banks will receive more bailouts and governments will continue to print more money. We are due for a change in our financial system which has become unmanageable and inequitable. Another financial crisis is due. This happens roughly every 40 years. In 1971, Nixon took the US off the gold standard so now all fiat currencies globally are linked to nothing. In fact 97% of all financial transactions take place electronically and only 3% is actual cash! All paper money is just figures on a computer screen and is worth nothing!! It is created out of thin air. There is no substance to our financial system.

Governments can devalue the currency, cutting your wealth in half or worse overnight. This has already happened in countries such as Brazil and South America and there’s no reason why it cannot happen in Europe and in the US.

I predicted that the housing bubbles in the countries that still seemed to be doing well would burst: Australia has just reduced its growth predictions and dropped its interest rates, China’s growth prospects have been cut and New Zealand is also in a recession with property and land prices falling.

We’ll see the transfer of enormous wealth in a heartbeat. Even some of the very wealthy will lose everything overnight. Systems of finance are going to change and no matter what the experts think will happen, the actuality will be different. More people than ever will be affected. Pensions are no longer secure and indeed they may be unable to pay out when the time comes. Insurance companies will go under and people who have paid premiums in good faith may end up with nothing if the company is bankrupt when their house is swept up in a tsunami or a fire burns down everything they own.

With Jupiter in Taurus since June 2011, there has been a huge focus on the banks and financial institutions. They received vast amounts of bailout funds and yet a few months later they have the nerve to post huge profits! Jupiter is still in Taurus until June 11th of 2012, so I am anticipating more bailouts, more money-printing, more recklessness on the part of the banks and more greed and fraud.
Jupiter goes into Gemini on June 11th and the stock sectors that will benefit are anything in communications, new technology, computers, cellphones, writing, transportation. Expect to see huge growth in social networking sites with all the areas that Gemini rules expanding exponentially.

This placement of Jupiter enhances everything connected with communications. We will find exciting new ways of communicating and improving our thinking abilities. There will be a greater focus on the power of the mind and how we can use our minds to heal our bodies in many cases without medical intervention. We’ll see inventions that will increase the speed we can travel both physically and mentally.
There will be a plethora of new gadgets, time-saving devices, new mobile communications tools, more wireless applications, advances in robotics, nanotechnology and everything that helps to save time and energy. We’ll have more time-saving devices, more mobile phones, more applications for those phones, new ways of executing financial transactions and the pace of life will speed up.
Products using nanotechnology will become more widespread. For example, I have a friend in Germany who is thrilled with her nanotechnology cleaning materials. She sprays her toilet and the bathroom and kitchen surfaces just once and then for three months or more, it just stays clean. Dirt rolls off it. Imagine never having to clean another toilet!

We might see a switch to virtual payment systems. Instead of using credit cards or debit cards, you have a device attached to your smartphone that allows you to pay for something right away.

Facebook is rumoured to be going public some time between April and June 2012 but I think it might be closer to June when Jupiter is in Gemini. We might not need the keyboard soon as communications may be voice activated. Look at Siri, the voice-operated personal assistant app on the Apple IPhone. There are others coming out soon and this is set to grow.

Expect to see huge growth in digital information clouds. At some point we’ll be able to stream all our music, TV, movies and books through subscription services. We’ll start to connect in new ways and we’ll know much more about each other.

The influence of Gemini will be about faster communications, understanding more, accomplishing a great deal in a very short time. If you work or are interested in technology, this could be a wonderful field to be involved in during this transit from June 11th 2012 until June 26th 2013.

Jupiter rules the legal system, so in Gemini you can expect to see new laws being enacted quickly and then different ones replacing them just as speedily. Be aware of that and make sure you are not reliant on having the law stay as it is. For example in many western countries the law is on the side of the tenant rather than the landlord. Governments could change this law and put landlords in the driving seat. Or employment law might change radically. In the UK, for example, the law favours the employee who can take their employer to a tribunal in a heartbeat. Those laws could be repealed and employees may find themselves out on their ear if they turn up late one day even with a valid excuse.

Education and learning will be hot topics, and expect to see a huge increase in reading, writing, texting, new mobile phones and appliances, new gadgets, how-to guides.

Because Gemini rules the hands, manual skills will become more prevalent. Handcrafts, drawing, carpentry, typing, music, massage, healing and an increase in people wanting to go back to the land and grow fruits and vegetables and become self-sufficient. Anything involving our hands and how we use our hands will be enhanced.

Gemini rules speech and we will see advances and breakthroughs with those who have difficulty speaking, those with dyslexia, dyspraxia and other learning challenges.
There will be a proliferation of creative games especially for the young. These will be used not only for amusement but also for education and learning.
We’ll see a huge increase in the number of new inventions and in applications for patents and copyrights.

This is a powerful time for people of like mind to come together to create huge changes on our planet. If enough people believe that we can be prosperous and we can come through our economic, social and political woes, we can create it. Jupiter in Gemini unleashes the power of the mind. Make sure you use it well and to your advantage.

Saturn changes sign from Libra into Scorpio on October 5th 2012. I’m sure many Librans will be very relieved to see Saturn leaving their sign! Whilst Saturn is still in Libra we’ll still be seeing issues around social equality, financial equality, equality for the people.

The industries that are ruled by the sign that Saturn is in tend to underperform. During Saturn in Libra those industries are cosmetics, jewellery, clothing, the law. During Saturn in Scorpio it will be security, the police, insurance, funeral industry, banks and financial institutions.

Saturn in Scorpio is in mutual reception with Pluto. This means that Saturn is in Pluto’s sign and Pluto is in Saturn’s sign. It’s similar to having a conjunction of the energies of Pluto and Saturn – and that’s certainly not an easy aspect. The debt situation will reach crisis point globally. In your personal life, try to pay off any debts you have before Saturn goes into Scorpio. We’ll see the debt mountain ballooning out of control around the world. When Saturn comes into Scorpio we’ll finally see a reckoning. On the other hand, we’ll also see even more fraud than ever – insurance fraud, drug fraud, bank fraud.

Issues around morality will be questioned. There are millions of people, especially youngsters, who play virtual games and I predict that there will be a lot of psychological issues coming up with these people not knowing the difference between right and wrong. They are playing these violent games, they are maiming and killing in a virtual reality and then they will come out into the real world and they won’t know the difference between fantasy and reality. Computer games, videos and television are getting in the way of reality and bending people’s perception. They are not seeing clearly and this will result in some serious social problems.

With Scorpio ruling sex, we’ll see sex offenders out on the streets, repeating these terrible acts, and with a reduction in the amount of police due to financial constraints, we’ll see a breakdown of order, and there will not be enough jails to put people in. We will have to find ways of protecting ourselves, looking after one another in smaller groups and communities. We will have to take much more responsibility for our lives and not rely on the government looking after us in the way many of us have grown accustomed.

There will be desperate people who will look for short cuts in order to survive. They will justify stealing from others. This is a time when taxes will go higher as governments desperately try to repay their escalating debts. Uranus rules the internet and Capricorn rules government and we’ll see governments trying to regulate and impose taxes and limitations on internet freedoms.
Anti-immigration feeling will intensify as illegal refugees fleeing war-torn and impoverished nations flood into Europe seeking jobs and security. With economies severely depressed and jobs scarce, the newcomers will be blamed for increases in crime and drugs and for the already strained social services, health and welfare systems. In 2011 some European nations including Denmark and France established border restrictions to circumvent the Schengen Agreement which allows open travel between the twenty five EU countries, and I anticipate that more countries will put up barriers to stem the immigration flow.

In the US we have seen huge crackdowns on illegal immigration especially in Arizona where and Alabama where draconian laws have been introduced. In Arizona, for example, college professors are allowed to carry guns in order to protect themselves. I expect other states to follow suit. I predict that we’ll see thousands if not millions of people deported out of the US and back to their countries.

With Neptune in Pisces we’ll see a parallel universe. Some people will just take themselves out of the reality of hardship, pain and stress of the world they’ve been living in and they will choose to lead a simpler life with less material needs. We’ll see groups of people who choose to grow their own food, supply their own power and live in a self-sufficient manner. They withdraw from society because they want a simpler, easier life. They might live in communities, set up a retreat into nature and be with people who have similar ideals.

One of the wonderful things likely to happen over the next decade is a renaissance in the arts and in music. This will be a wonderful time for musicians, actors, composers and artists of any kind. Because so many will lose huge amounts of wealth overnight, they will reassess their priorities in life. Our artists, musicians, actors, entertainers will gain popularity as people seek simpler pleasures and desire to connect on a deeper more meaningful level.

Creating a society with a higher vibration and a fair destiny for all will involve a shift in consciousness. This has to be acted upon individually and collectively. What will it take? Can we evolve to a higher level? Be a leader in your own life. Don’t let Pluto in Capricorn make you fearful of the authorities, keep in mind that Uranus is in Aries which is the opportunity for the masses to break out in an uncharted direction which can bring about prosperity and fairness for us all.
We are interconnected with our economies, our banks and our companies relying on one another as never before. We must not allow those who are greedy, fraudulent and dishonest to get away with it. They must be made accountable. We need a new, fairer system whereby each person can have a chance to reach their potential, to be well-educated and to have access to health and social systems. We can create a better world for ourselves and our children as we emerge from the chaos.

Full Moon in Gemini December 10th

Gemini rules anything connected with education, intelligence, learning, studying, sharing, travelling, socialising, speaking, writing, connecting with people, networking and communications.

This is a time to be social, it will be easier to meet new people, share ideas and enjoy having fun and playing together. It’s a great time to catch up with friends and family – not only in person, but by snail mail, email, text, Skype and also with your extended family on the Internet. Anything connected with writing and communication is highlighted, books, libraries, clubs, family gatherings and community or neighbourhood activities.

Be prepared for lots of mental stimulation and feeling as though your mind is all over the place. You may have many different ideas coming up at the same time and you might not be able to decide which direction to go in. You mind might be racing, you will be filled with ideas, inspiration, intellectual energy and you might speak too quickly. You may feel torn in two different directions. You might be torn between two lovers or you might feel your work and your love life are pulling you into different directions. Gemini often represents duality and the issue of choice.

Let someone in your life know you appreciate them and do it in a creative way with the light touch of Gemini. You might do it with a smile, a word, a poem, a text, a joke – just something that makes them feel appreciated and special.

Your emotional state may be changeable: one minute up the next minute down. Try to stay flexible and in the moment. It’s a great time for sharing just about anything: jokes, songs, poetry, thoughts, ideas, problems, solutions.

Good things to do:
Try to sit quietly and still your mind
Write down all the ideas, problems and possible solutions that are passing through your mind
Let your mind be free to come up with new ideas
If you have a problem – write your problem at the top of the page and then just freestyle all the ideas that you pop into your head
If you are feeling indecisive about something, write down the consequences of taking action or not taking action. See which option will have the more favourable outcome.
Speak what’s on your mind
Go to a concert
Go to a party or have your own party
Absorb lots of pieces of information, and distill their essence
Watch comedies, farces and anything with humour
Play games e.g. scrabble, charades, pass the parcel etc.
Visit the library or bookstore
Catch up on correspondence and phone calls
Do anything involving your hands e.g. painting, making clothes, jewellery
Make presents and cards
Share in public something you have been working on in secret
Go to a karaoke night and have a go yourself
Meet up with a friend for coffee and a chat
Join a new social network
Write a poem
Compose a song or the lyrics for a song

It’s a good time for coming up with the ideas, but not the best time for actually making decisions. Wait until the Full Moon energies have passed before you make a final decision.

Questions to ask yourself:
Where do you need to be heard?
Where do you need to listen more?
How can you communicate in a way that gets the results you desire?

This Full Moon falls in my 12th house and it’s a time for deep thinking within, not necessarily too much socialising, but a time of healing from past pains of being misunderstood or not feeling as though I was heard. Old patterns from the past come up for re-examination and it’s time for me to see both sides of what happened and to gain a new perspective of the past so that I can move on now into new friendships and relationships with greater wisdom and understanding. I’ll also be writing another ebook as the twelfth house placement gives me a great opportunity to get words on paper without having outside distractions to pull me off course. I should be able to get a lot done!

Perhaps it falls in your third house of communication and learning. This would be a great time for visiting friends, people in your community, networking, marketing, anything involving technology and communication with others.

New Moon in Scorpio October 26th 2011

This New Moon at 3 degrees Scorpio gives you the opportunity to look deep inside yourself, to question what is important in your life and to strip away anything that is no longer serving you. It could be a car that’s not really working properly, it could be your house that needs some repairs, it could be a business that isn’t giving you pleasure any more, it could be a relationship that’s lost its fire…Be prepared to discard what is not working and release it. Don’t hang on. Make space for new, more nourishing experiences to come into your life. Scorpio is all about letting go. The more you hang on, the more difficult it will be for you. If you go along with the changes that are being asked of you, your life will be a whole lot easier to manage.

What are your deepest wishes? If you are stuck in a quagmire of emotions and unhealthy habits that are keeping you from achieving your goals, use this New Moon in Scorpio to set serious new goals and intentions. Scorpio inspires persistence and determination, the courage to face unpleasantness and hardship in order to grow stronger, and ultimately become more confident and more satisfied with your life.

Anything connected with other people’s money, joint resources, inheritances and financial partnerships may come up for resolution during this time so be ready to examine your finances in depth.

Good things to do:
Try to figure out the source of difficulties in your life and make a conscious effort to resolve them.
Get plenty of rest as this could be a time when you will have some interesting and insightful dreams.
Have a long bath or hot spa
Don’t let the emotional intensity isolate you, allow it to draw you closer to others.
Discard the old and allow the new to come in
Focus on your self improvement and empowerment
Face your addictions and take steps to free yourself from them e.g. food, gambling, drinking, social networking…etc.
Develop your personal magnetism by working on the strength of your character
Develop your creative gifts
Meditate, pray, ask for guidance
Be still and quiet
Solve a mystery
Do some serious soul searching
Go on a detox
Be honest even if it’s difficult to do
Feel all your feelings
Develop your psychic power
Connect with your sexual energy
Learn how to welcome and manage intensity

Find out where this New Moon falls in your chart, and you will see which life area is being most impacted. For me, it’s in my 5th house of creativity and my own business. I’ve been hanging onto a web hosting company because I have paid so much in advance to them for their services. However, I have not been satisfied with their way of doing business and despite losing a considerable sum of money, I am transferring to another provider who I feel can more meet my needs. I have come to terms with letting go of the money in order to be treated in a more favourable way. Scorpio often indicates a loss – and in this case it’s money – in order to move onto something new and better.

So for example, if you are a Taurus or have Taurus rising, the New Moon in Scorpio will be in your 7th house of relationships. You may need to ask yourself whether there are relationships in your life that you need to let go of, or maybe let go of control, make radical changes, take back your power, be prepared to be alone, face the issues you have been avoiding, look at the issues that have been bothering you, see if they can be resolved and if not, be prepared to walk away.
If you don’t have a birth chart, then use your Sun sign or your rising sign if you know it.

If you are an Aries Sun or Ascendant, it will fall in your 8th house.
Taurus Sun or Ascendant, in your 7th house
Gemini Sun or Ascendant in you 6th house
Cancer Sun or Ascendant in you 5th house
Leo Sun or Ascendant in your 4th house
Virgo Sun or Ascendant in your 3rd house
Libra Sun or Ascendant in your 2nd house
Scorpio Sun or Ascendant in your 1st house
Sagittarius Sun or Ascendant in your 12th house
Capricorn Sun or Ascendant in your 11th house
Aquarius Sun or Ascendant in your 10th house
Pisces Sun or Ascendant in your 9th house

This is a powerful New Moon so make the best use of its energies in your life.

Riots Worldwide - More to come??

This weekend, the Wall Street protests went global with demonstrations in many major cities around the world. So far most of the rallies have been small and quite peaceful, but in Rome there were tens of thousands of people who were prepared to be violent to get their point across. From New Zealand, to Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, the UK and many cities across the US.

What’s happening? Which planets are triggering these events and how does the future look? The two planets at play here are Uranus and Pluto. Let’s take a look at Uranus first. Uranus is all about sudden change, freedom, young people, disruption to the status quo, awakening to new possibilities. Uranus forces us to break out of patterns that have become too rigid. Uranus can become violent when it feels cornered and so many people are feeling like this now: they have huge debts, their homes are being foreclosed, their social security benefits are drying up, tent cities have sprung up in previously affluent areas and increasing numbers are unemployed. Look at the youth of today in so many countries where there are huge percentages without work and many don’t have much hope of ever finding a job. Uranus calls for justice, freedom and equality and it can spiral sudden riots, revolutions and even wars. In fact Uranus was first discovered in 1781 right in the midst of the French revolution. The difference today is that we have global communication systems that can reach millions of people within seconds and cause a worldwide movement overnight.

Now let’s look at the energy of Pluto. Pluto is the planet of transformation; it breaks down the old structures that are no longer serving us and over a long period of time new and better structures can emerge. Pluto rules our governments, our politicians, the banks, big corporations and it wants power and control and can be very manipulative. We are certainly seeing the subversive and controlling power of Pluto in our financial systems, our economies and our governments. When the difference between the haves and the have nots becomes too great, and reports show that the richest one percent of the population control over forty percent of the world’s wealth, and ten percent of the wealthiest people own over eighty-five percent of the world’s assets. With this kind of imbalance, the seeds of revolution have already been planted and great changes must eventually come to pass.

Both Uranus and Pluto are in cardinal signs: Uranus is in Aries and Pluto is in Capricorn. This means that their energies are especially strong and neither is going to give way. In Aries, Uranus is potentially a firecracker ready to go off at any moment. Aries rules weapons, war and destruction. It pushes people out in sudden surges to fight for freedom and justice.

The astrological reason why this is now coming to a head is that we have a square which is a very tense aspect between Uranus and Pluto. What is happening between now and May-June of 2012 is that this energy is building up and getting even stronger. And from June 2012 until the end of 2012, I’m anticipating that this is going to get much more violent and that we haven’t even begun to see the full force of it yet. Up until now, for the most part these demonstrations have been quite peaceful. As this square aspect tightens between Pluto and Uranus I think we’re going to see much more civil unrest, and sudden outbreaks of anger, violence and destruction.

Uranus is all about the people coming together in a world community. With Pluto in Capricorn many of our major structures will have to be broken down in order for something new and more equitable to emerge. I think it will all accelerate from June 2012. We’ll see tighter regulation, more taxes, more stringent immigration laws, trade embargoes, with the powers that be trying to exert more and more control over their citizens.

As the square becomes tighter, the tension will increase and we will see some big shifts. What needs to happen is that people don’t only demonstrate about what they don’t want any more, but that they start thinking about the kind of world they do want to create. We need a direction that we are excited about that we are moving towards. What do we want for our world?

In the early years of this century, there were times when stock markets in different countries moved in different directions from one another. For example even if the US markets fell, the Singapore market might rise. Now, however, our global stock markets are so intertwined that when one falls they all fall like a pack of cards. This is one of the reasons why I think we urgently need to come together not only to fight for freedom but to become clear about what it is that we do want to create for our new world.

This square also manifests on a physical level as far as earth changes are concerned. Pluto in Capricorn rules our physical earth and the square to Uranus means that we are likely to see an increase in the number and severity of earthquakes, tsunamis, erupting volcanoes, severe weather patterns and flooding all of which is likely to happen quickly and unexpectedly. Also expect disasters concerning travel, airplanes, rail, roads and ships. The recent oil spill and disaster in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand is a recent example. Always with Uranus we are taken by surprise.

Look at where this square falls in your own astrological chart: where are you being too rigid, too controlling, suppressing your life force and where do you need to break out, to take risks, to let go of control and envision a brighter future? Perhaps it falls in your sixth and tenth houses? This could mean that you are attached to eating and drinking things that you know are no good for you, but you continue to eat them while knowing that you are threatening your health in the future. Maybe you have been putting up with a very controlling boss and you need to speak out and risk the consequences? Or maybe it’s in your fourth and seventh houses. Perhaps you’re in a relationship where your partner is very manipulative and you’ve suddenly awakened to their destructive behaviour and you realise you need to walk away? Maybe you’ve been living at home with your family and the tension is getting too much and you need to move out?

As this aspect is strengthening over the next year it’s going to be very valuable for you to know which life areas are being triggered in your life so that you can become aware of the areas where you are stuck so that these Uranian energies don’t have to be destructive, painful and traumatic but they can be exciting, uplifting and inspiring.

Full Moon in Aries, October 12th

This is a very passionate moon and you’ll be feeling more emotional than usual. Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, is about new beginnings. The full Moon in Aries wants you to be yourself, to trust your intuition and to try out new things. Be courageous, don’t ignore your desires or you will feel as though you are exploding with frustration or anger.
Try not to upset anyone on the road by cutting in on their lane as emotions will be running high. Remember to avoid rash actions, take an extra second or two to centre yourself and remember to breathe. Very often there are more accidents during this Full Moon in Aries, so try to do things slowly and leave yourself enough time to get through congested traffic or to deal with a delay on public transportation so that you don’t arrive at your destination all sweaty and stressed out.

Don’t make any life changing decisions until a few days after this Full Moon has gone by because by then your emotions will have settled and you will be able to see things more rationally.

During this Moon in Aries, you may be upset at losing things from the past, but you will be able to put your faith into new beginnings. It renews your trust and
instills a new energy inside of you. You’ll probably feel restless and wanting to do more.

Good things to do during the Full Moon in Aries:
Set off on a new adventure
Travel light
Take a leap of faith
Look at where you are dependent on others and where you could stand on your own two feet and become independent
Adjust your self image and being able to work effectively with others
Be prepared to be blunt and truthful
Make time for your partner, your friends, maybe have a celebration
Great time for love making and romance after you have cleared any obstacles out of the way
Try out a new sport
Take courageous actions
Go it alone if necessary
Be true to yourself
Stand up for yourself
Plant new seeds
Plan new career goals
Celebrate your individual freedom
Face a threat or a confrontation directly
Allow your emotions out whether they are pretty or not
Take bold steps to do what you really want to do

Questions to ask yourself:
Am I being true to myself or am I being the person you think they want me to be?
What do I really want in my life?
What are my goals and what action steps do I need to take now

Wherever it falls in your chart, you will have an opportunity to be honest and to ensure that your needs are being heard and met. For example, if this Full Moon falls in your seventh house of relationships, you may find yourself more easily irritated and you will have to face any sore points you have in a relationship. You won’t be able to ignore any emotions that have been building up for a period of time. So you might need to get something off your chest in order to start fresh. You might on the other hand want to leap into a romantic situation without really thinking about the consequences.

In my chart, this Full Moon in Aries falls in my 10th house of career, I need to take an honest look at my business. Am I listening too much to other peoples’ opinions or am I being true to my own ideas? It’s about being bold and courageous, as I have had to be with announcing the predictions about more tsunamis, earthquakes, civil unrest, economic breakdown that show in the configuration of planets we have at this time. I cannot be the nicey nicey Libran, wanting to make it pleasant and acceptable for everyone, this Full Moon calls for a clear and decisive actions regardless of whether they are popular or not.

Full Moon in Aquarius August 13th 2011

There is great unrest and uncertainty all around us. Earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, climate change, economic upheaval, political crises…the list goes on. We are seeing this on a global and national level and also on a personal level. More and more we are learning how to adapt to changes that we might never have anticipated. Aquarius by nature is an innovator and is driven to create a better future for all of us.

In your life you may be feeling stuck, knowing that you need to make changes, but you are too scared to make the move. Depending on where this Full Moon in Aquarius is occurring in your chart, will show you where changes are urgent and imminent. Some things just have to go in order to make way for the new.

This Full Moon in Aquarius will show you where you need to be more independent, more creative and more innovative in your life. Aquarius is all about breaking new ground, rebelling against the status quo, being an individual and yet wanting the best for everyone. It gives you an opportunity to take a more objective, analytical view of your life without so much emotionality. Prepare yourself for surprises and be ready to respond in new ways to different situations.

Good things to do:
Come up with new ideas
Have a brainstorming session with some other people
Be different
Reach out to others with compassion and caring
Be inspiring or go to an inspiring event, speaker, workshop
Meet up with different, off-beat people
Awaken your mind
Celebrate your uniqueness
Be with people who are stimulating and who get you to think differently
Encourage other people to be themselves
Appreciate your freedom
Do some social networking
Meet up with friends
Help others and volunteer in your community
Take up meditation and get in touch with your higher self
Do something new and creative
Reach out and connect with like-minded people
Make some new friends
Allow yourself space in your life to do what you want
Give the other people in your life space and freedom
Study what makes you different and enjoy it!

Questions to ask yourself:
What are my dreams telling me?
Do I allow myself full creative expression?
How can I connect more with others?
Am I open to having my world shaken up?
Can I be passionate without becoming possessive or too intense?
Can I be rational without being too detached and cool?
Where in my life do I need to break out and be wild and crazy?
How can I think more outside the box?
What is my sense of purpose?
What can I do for the good of all?

You may have been working assiduously towards changes in your life that are now beginning to come to fruition and yet you may be getting cold feet. With this Full Moon, take a breather and think carefully before you give up or move forward. This is a crossroads – a time of closing and opening doors. In my chart, this Full Moon falls in my 8th house. I’ll have to watch out that I am not being over-possessive about property or clinging onto things that are past their sell by date. It will also be a time to come up with new ideas for helping my clients take more control over their finances.

Maybe it’s falling in your fourth house of home and family. Is there something you haven’t wanted to look at that you’ve been avoiding in this area? Be ready for some surprises. For example, if you have been trying to sell a property without success, you may come up with a very creative idea for selling it quickly and easily. You may suddenly have a brainwave as to how to resolve a family issue that has been affecting you adversely.

Enjoy this Full Moon in Aquarius where you will have an opportunity to take a break from your emotions and look at your life in a more detached, unique and productive way.
