New Moon in Scorpio November 6th 2010

This New Moon at 13 degrees Scorpio gives you the opportunity to look deep inside yourself, to question what is important in your life and to strip away anything that is no longer serving you. It could be a car that’s not really working properly, it could be a house, it could be a business, it could be a relationship…Be prepared to discard what is not working and release it. Don’t hang on. You need to make space for new, more nourishing people and experiences to come into your life. Scorpio is all about letting go. The more you hang on, the more difficult it will be for you. If you will go with the changes that are being asked of you, your life will be a whole lot easier to manage.

What are your deepest desires? If you are stuck in a quagmire of emotions and unhealthy habits that are keeping you from achieving your goals, use this New Moon in Scorpio to set serious new goals. Scorpio inspires persistence and determination, the courage to face unpleasantness and hardship in order to grow stronger, more confident and more satisfied with your life.

You may find that mysteries, issues that have bugged you in one way or another will come to light and if you take the time to look deep within, you will find answers to questions that have been on your mind.

On the positive side, it is a time of rebirth, where you can start fresh. Focus on your self improvement on regenerating yourself.

Tips:
Don’t let the emotional intensity of this new moon frighten or isolate you. Allow it to draw you closer to others.

Anything connected with other people’s money, inheritances and financial partnerships may come up for resolution during this time so be ready to examine your finances in depth.

Try to figure out the source of difficulties in your life and make a conscious effort to resolve them.

Get plenty of rest as this could be a time when you will have some interesting and insightful dreams.

For those of you who know where this New Moon falls in your chart, you will see which life area is being most impacted. For me, it’s in my 5th house of creativity and my own business. I am in the process of having whole revamp of my website. I’ve put off doing this for a long time because I had paid in advance for several years for this site – however, Scorpio often indicates a loss of something and for me it is a loss of some money in order to move onto something new.

If you don’t have a birth chart, then use your Sun sign or your rising sign if you know it.

If you are an Aries Sun or Ascendant, it will fall in your 8th house.
Taurus Sun or Ascendant, in your 7th house
Gemini Sun or Ascendant in you 6th house
Cancer Sun or Ascendant in you 5th house
Leo Sun or Ascendant in your 4th house
Virgo Sun or Ascendant in your 3rd house
Libra Sun or Ascendant in your 2nd house
Scorpio Sun or Ascendant in your 1st house
Sagittarius Sun or Ascendant in your 12th house
Capricorn Sun or Ascendant in your 11th house
Aquarius Sun or Ascendant in your 10th house
Pisces Sun or Ascendant in your 9th house

So for example, if you are a Taurus or have Taurus rising, the New Moon in Scorpio will be in your 7th house of relationships. You may need to ask yourself whether there are relationships in your life that you need to let go of, or maybe let go of control, make radical changes, take back your power, be prepared to be alone, face the issues you have been avoiding, look at the issues that have been bothering you, see if they can be resolved and if not, be prepared to walk away.

This is a powerful New Moon so make the best use of its energies in your life!

Mercury and how you communicate

This blog will give you a taster about Mercury – it’s such an important planet that is often greatly underestimated. Mercury is the planet of communication. It rules information – we are in the information age. Mercury shows you a great deal about how you communicate – how comfortable you may be with some things, but how extremely uncomfortable you might be with communicating other things. Maybe you have a very strong Mercury in your chart and you are a chatterbox and nobody can shut you up. You are on the phone, your are on your Ipod, your on the computer, you are always communicating and you have to have some kind of communication device in your hand at any given time.

Mercury can never be more than 28 degrees away from the Sun, so it will either be in the sign before your Sun sign, the same sign as your Sun, or in the next sign after you Sun sign. For example, if you are a Gemini Sun, you will either have Mercury in Taurus, Gemini or Cancer. For many people it will be in the same sign as your Sun and for you learning is probably easy. You are in alignment with your personality, it can be easier to communicate. When the Sun and Mercury are in different signs you will often feel as though you are misunderstood. People just don’t get you. The further away Mercury is from your Sun, the harder you may find it is for you to communicate with people. You may feel as though they are not listening, they don’t hear you. The aspects to your Mercury will show whether there is an easy flow of communication in your life or whether it is difficult and uptight.

Mercury also shows your best learning style - some of us learn best by experience and doing something hands on, others learn best in a school situation through books and a teacher up front.

Let’s take a look at Mercury through the different signs:
If you have Mercury in a fire sign – Aries, Leo, Sagittarius – you need to get things your chest. You need to speak out. You might have said something and later regret it feeling that maybe you were a bit too quick off the mark. Mercury in a Fire sign cannot help itself – it just flares up and it needs to get the information out quickly. Mercury in Fire has a quick mind, sometimes the brain works quicker than the words that come out of it.

Then there is Mercury in the Earth signs – Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn – tends to be a little slower, with perhaps the exception of Virgo which is a little quicker, however you don’t speak without thinking. You don’t like to rush into something, you are more grounded. You like to look at the reality of the situation first before you jump in. Mercury in Taurus is perhaps the slowest before it gets involved. It is slow to communicate. Let’s say you are with a partner who has Mercury in Aries who is quick quick quick – “what do you think of this??” “shall we do that?”
Mercury in Taurus feels completely overwhelmed by this and says “please, give me some time to think about it!” This is why it is important to have compatible Mercuries in a relationship. The Mercury placements can be one of the most important factors in determining how nourishing a relationship is going to turn out on a day to day basis.

Let’s look at Mercury in the Air signs – Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Mercury is quite comfortable in an Air sign because Mercury is fast, it doesn’t want to be pinned down. The Air signs like to reason, to look at a situation logically and this is very much what Mercury likes to do.

My Mercury is in Libra in an Air sign – I am always worried about what other people are thinking, do they like me, I worry about how I am coming across, I don’t like unpleasantness. I need balance in communication – there is no way I would write a blog that just covered a few of the signs. No, I have got to cover everybody to make sure that everyone has a fair share of the attention. That’s my Mercury in Libra.

Mercury in Gemini is in its rulership and is usually very happy there – a good communicator, often interested in learning, writing, needs a great deal of variety and cannot bear to be pinned down.
Mercury in Aquarius is exalted and often has a flair for figures and for thinking outside the box. In general all the Air sign Mercuries can be very impatient and they find it difficult to communicate with someone who is much slower in their communication style. It can be very frustrating to them and they just want to say “get on with it!!”

Mercury in Water signs – Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. They need to feel their way before they communicate. Intuitive by nature they may need to write it all down before they can speak, they might need to paint it, to write a poem. They are extremely sensitive in their communication and could feel very rushed by a Mercury in a Fire sign. Let’s say you have Mercury in Pisces and you are in a relationship with someone who has Mercury in Leo. Well they are going to be very bossy, organising you and telling you to do this and that. Mercury in Pisces is timid enough as it is. You will probably have to learn how to assert yourself and to stick up for what you need.

There is so much to share about Mercury – my Mercury in Libra is dying to share so much with you!! But this is just a taster and I will be back with more.

Are you ready for Venus Retrograde?

From October 8th – November 18th and Venus is in Scorpio mainly until 7th January 2011.
As it is in Scorpio – ask yourself whether there are any control issues in your relationships?
Are you bossy and domineering or is your partner? Do you have possessive feelings?
Do you trust your lover?
It's a time to step back and take a look at what you love and what you value.

Where it is transiting in your chart will show which area of life will be most affected for you.

For example – in your 1st house it will force you to look at yourself, what your needs are, whether you need to make some changes in your appearance
In your 2nd house – you will be forced to look at your values, what is important to you, how you earn your money, are you satisfied
In your 4th house – time to reevaluate family relationships, maybe issues from the past come up for attention, maybe endings, completions
In your 5th house – analyse a romantic connection you have
In your 9th house – look at what your beliefs are, maybe adjust them – not be too narrow-minded, opening up more to the universe
In your 10th house – rethink your career and your life direction – are you working in something that you love or not, is there deception in your workplace? Endings?

In my own chart this retrograde is in my fourth house of home, family, roots, security – and close to natal Neptune – forcing me to look at my relationships – I moved to a new area and I don’t know anyone – and the people who were friends with me seem to have dropped off the face of the earth and I am having to decide what relationships I want and where I am in my life. I am starting over again.

Some relationships may end, some relationships may begin.

Venus retrograde can bring things to you, it can take things from you

Same with your finances – some new opportunities may come, some may disappear.

If you want to know where it is in your chart and how it will affect you, send me a question for USD$25.00 on my website: http://www.yourastrologysigns.com

New Moon in Libra October 7th

The New Moon in Libra is an opportunity for you to bring newness and renewal into your relationships. This is not only your intimate relationship, but also your business relationships, work relationships, any partnerships you may have. As Saturn and the Sun are also in Libra at this time, ask yourself whether your relationships are built on solid foundations? Are you feeling restricted in your relationships? Do you need to find more balance in your relationships? Are you being too nice and compromising your needs?

The New Moon in Libra is ruled by Venus so it's important to think about the things that you enjoy doing. Have you been putting off doing something or starting something that you love? For example, I love going cycling, but my bike needed fixing and I had put it off for ages. Yesterday, I took it to the bike store and for just $20.00 it is now as good as new and I am happily riding around town! So ask yourself what you would enjoy doing and take action to bring it to life!

Have a Happy New Moon.
