Jupiter & Neptune conjunction in Aquarius - what does it mean?

The keywords for Jupiter are: faith, luck, expansion, optimism, abundance, growth.

The keywords for Aquarius are: awakening, originality, technology, futuristic thinking, idealism, friendship, collaboration, the new, the unconventional, humanitarianism.

Look out for innovations that bring radical change to our society and expand the vision of how the universe works. Jupiter seeks to widen the breadth of vision, and in Aquarius, that’s likely to bring about a new perspective in relation to our idea of time. Maybe we will start to time travel? There will probably be an increase in interest in subjects such as astrology, the occult, psychic phenomena and the like. Much of the current interest in ancient wisdom could expand and be integrated into the 21st century.

We are likely to see more interest in life beyond Earth, much more space travel and new advances in exploring the frontiers of the mind. The buzz about UFO’s will continue to grow and this could be the time that we have our minds blown open. There will be more studies into the development of our brains and how we can utilise much more of our brainpower.

It’s going to be a great year for brainstorming in large groups as Jupiter in Aquarius boosts collective endeavours, especially the ones that encourage reform or even revolution. Jupiter rules faith and we could be focusing on global meditations or prayer. There will be a coming together of people from around the world – without boundaries of religion, sex or gender. In many ways we will see more optimism and faith in the people even though our old structures may be crumbling around us. The financial system is going to change radically. Most likely is that the proliferation of complementary currencies will continue worldwide and people will come together to create more sustainable local communities. The crisis in the financial system will force the brightest brains to come together to build a new economic architecture for the future. Our banking systems will be unrecognisable a decade from now. There will be new innovations and most likely a new world currency. It’s going to be exciting and scary at the same time. But out of all this destruction will hopefully come positive transformation for the betterment of our world.

In 2010, Jupiter will align in the sign of Aries, at zero degrees, or what is commonly known as the World Point. When this alignment occurs there is a great scientific breakthrough that impacts the world, facilitating an even greater shift in consciousness. Where this conjunction falls in your horoscope shows you where you will feel compelled to take a risk with your life, to experience adventure, to explore your creative potential and to overcome the fear of life.

Watch out for tremendous breakthroughs in computing and high-tech to take place, potentially empowering more rapid positive change to manifest. Some of these radical ideas will be local currencies – which are already growing – digital barter economies and the gathering together of tribes resonating with a particular purpose.

Jupiter will catch up with and conjunct Neptune in Aquarius in May of 2009, and stay conjunct all summer. This can be great for the spiritually evolved, but not too good for those with serious drinking and drug issues. Jupiter which rules excess combined with Neptune which rules liquids and drugs shows how this could manifest. The last time Jupiter was conjunct with Neptune in Aquarius was 168 years ago – so it has not happened in our lifetime.

The last Jupiter conjunction in another sign was January 9th, 1997 at 27 degrees Capricorn. That year there was record flooding (Jupiter – too much of Neptune – water) in Northern California, as well as major floods in the Ohio River Valley, the Red River in Grand Forks, and Fort Collins, Colorado.

To be on the safe side, I recommend that you purchase flood insurance cover for 2009. There also need to be more tsunami warning systems in place before the summertime. Religious or ideological fervour could run rampant as well. In fact, large political movements will have plenty of energy.

Not all of the ways that Jupiter and Neptune can manifest are pleasant, especially within the context of difficult Saturn aspects to Uranus and Pluto. I have already mentioned the possibility of extensive flooding, but there can also be many natural disasters during 2009 and into 2010. Neptune rules tears and sadness. Symbolically, Jupiter and Neptune can correspond to a time of great sadness and many tears. With Pluto in Capricorn being squared by Saturn in Libra towards the end of 2009, the potential for a loss of a popular leader, or for many people to experience natural calamities such as earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis could be on the cards.

Perhaps we will get another motivating and inspirational speech as Barack Obama take office on January 20th 2009. Since he was elected president when Saturn was at 19 degrees Virgo, he’s going to have to try to do the impossible and keep his promises or he will come under severe criticism when Saturn resumes direction motion. Since the Israeli war with the Palestinians began just before Saturn’s retrograde this suggest it will continue through January and then again when Saturn approaches 21 degrees Virgo near the solar and lunar eclipses in August.

If you have been waiting for that time when you would have a voice and could be heard, then 2009 is your year. You could find your voice and you will find that others share the same concerns as you do. In 2009, there will be strength in numbers. It’s going to be a year of extremes – especially with the Saturn Uranus opposition occurring on and off throughout the year. We will come face to face with extremism, in the world, in our communities and in our personal lives. We will make progress in the areas of health, global pollution, energy and cleaning up the corruption in politics and in government. The key will be moderation on all levels: globally, in your community and personally.

Excellent post and information. We agree, you seem 100% correct with this following statement on currency. I would have to give you some big BIG credit for pointing this out. Excellent! Mark
