Riots Worldwide - More to come??

This weekend, the Wall Street protests went global with demonstrations in many major cities around the world. So far most of the rallies have been small and quite peaceful, but in Rome there were tens of thousands of people who were prepared to be violent to get their point across. From New Zealand, to Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, the UK and many cities across the US.

What’s happening? Which planets are triggering these events and how does the future look? The two planets at play here are Uranus and Pluto. Let’s take a look at Uranus first. Uranus is all about sudden change, freedom, young people, disruption to the status quo, awakening to new possibilities. Uranus forces us to break out of patterns that have become too rigid. Uranus can become violent when it feels cornered and so many people are feeling like this now: they have huge debts, their homes are being foreclosed, their social security benefits are drying up, tent cities have sprung up in previously affluent areas and increasing numbers are unemployed. Look at the youth of today in so many countries where there are huge percentages without work and many don’t have much hope of ever finding a job. Uranus calls for justice, freedom and equality and it can spiral sudden riots, revolutions and even wars. In fact Uranus was first discovered in 1781 right in the midst of the French revolution. The difference today is that we have global communication systems that can reach millions of people within seconds and cause a worldwide movement overnight.

Now let’s look at the energy of Pluto. Pluto is the planet of transformation; it breaks down the old structures that are no longer serving us and over a long period of time new and better structures can emerge. Pluto rules our governments, our politicians, the banks, big corporations and it wants power and control and can be very manipulative. We are certainly seeing the subversive and controlling power of Pluto in our financial systems, our economies and our governments. When the difference between the haves and the have nots becomes too great, and reports show that the richest one percent of the population control over forty percent of the world’s wealth, and ten percent of the wealthiest people own over eighty-five percent of the world’s assets. With this kind of imbalance, the seeds of revolution have already been planted and great changes must eventually come to pass.

Both Uranus and Pluto are in cardinal signs: Uranus is in Aries and Pluto is in Capricorn. This means that their energies are especially strong and neither is going to give way. In Aries, Uranus is potentially a firecracker ready to go off at any moment. Aries rules weapons, war and destruction. It pushes people out in sudden surges to fight for freedom and justice.

The astrological reason why this is now coming to a head is that we have a square which is a very tense aspect between Uranus and Pluto. What is happening between now and May-June of 2012 is that this energy is building up and getting even stronger. And from June 2012 until the end of 2012, I’m anticipating that this is going to get much more violent and that we haven’t even begun to see the full force of it yet. Up until now, for the most part these demonstrations have been quite peaceful. As this square aspect tightens between Pluto and Uranus I think we’re going to see much more civil unrest, and sudden outbreaks of anger, violence and destruction.

Uranus is all about the people coming together in a world community. With Pluto in Capricorn many of our major structures will have to be broken down in order for something new and more equitable to emerge. I think it will all accelerate from June 2012. We’ll see tighter regulation, more taxes, more stringent immigration laws, trade embargoes, with the powers that be trying to exert more and more control over their citizens.

As the square becomes tighter, the tension will increase and we will see some big shifts. What needs to happen is that people don’t only demonstrate about what they don’t want any more, but that they start thinking about the kind of world they do want to create. We need a direction that we are excited about that we are moving towards. What do we want for our world?

In the early years of this century, there were times when stock markets in different countries moved in different directions from one another. For example even if the US markets fell, the Singapore market might rise. Now, however, our global stock markets are so intertwined that when one falls they all fall like a pack of cards. This is one of the reasons why I think we urgently need to come together not only to fight for freedom but to become clear about what it is that we do want to create for our new world.

This square also manifests on a physical level as far as earth changes are concerned. Pluto in Capricorn rules our physical earth and the square to Uranus means that we are likely to see an increase in the number and severity of earthquakes, tsunamis, erupting volcanoes, severe weather patterns and flooding all of which is likely to happen quickly and unexpectedly. Also expect disasters concerning travel, airplanes, rail, roads and ships. The recent oil spill and disaster in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand is a recent example. Always with Uranus we are taken by surprise.

Look at where this square falls in your own astrological chart: where are you being too rigid, too controlling, suppressing your life force and where do you need to break out, to take risks, to let go of control and envision a brighter future? Perhaps it falls in your sixth and tenth houses? This could mean that you are attached to eating and drinking things that you know are no good for you, but you continue to eat them while knowing that you are threatening your health in the future. Maybe you have been putting up with a very controlling boss and you need to speak out and risk the consequences? Or maybe it’s in your fourth and seventh houses. Perhaps you’re in a relationship where your partner is very manipulative and you’ve suddenly awakened to their destructive behaviour and you realise you need to walk away? Maybe you’ve been living at home with your family and the tension is getting too much and you need to move out?

As this aspect is strengthening over the next year it’s going to be very valuable for you to know which life areas are being triggered in your life so that you can become aware of the areas where you are stuck so that these Uranian energies don’t have to be destructive, painful and traumatic but they can be exciting, uplifting and inspiring.

Full Moon in Aries, October 12th

This is a very passionate moon and you’ll be feeling more emotional than usual. Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, is about new beginnings. The full Moon in Aries wants you to be yourself, to trust your intuition and to try out new things. Be courageous, don’t ignore your desires or you will feel as though you are exploding with frustration or anger.
Try not to upset anyone on the road by cutting in on their lane as emotions will be running high. Remember to avoid rash actions, take an extra second or two to centre yourself and remember to breathe. Very often there are more accidents during this Full Moon in Aries, so try to do things slowly and leave yourself enough time to get through congested traffic or to deal with a delay on public transportation so that you don’t arrive at your destination all sweaty and stressed out.

Don’t make any life changing decisions until a few days after this Full Moon has gone by because by then your emotions will have settled and you will be able to see things more rationally.

There is great unrest and uncertainty all around us. Earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, climate change, economic upheaval, political crises…the list goes on. We are seeing this on a global and national level and also on a personal level. More and more we are learning how to adapt to changes that we might never have anticipated. Aquarius by nature is an innovator and is driven to create a better future for all of us.

In your life you may be feeling stuck, knowing that you need to make changes, but you are too scared to make the move. Total Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon at 24 degrees Sagittarius, June 15th 2011

This is a very powerful eclipse and is the longest we have had in the last seven years. The effects of this particular eclipse will be much longer lasting than the usual six months prior and six months after. Instead, I am anticipating that the effects will be with us for at least 18 months. Lunar eclipses bring emotions to the surface. This particular eclipse in Sagittarius will be about learning the truth as opposed to being told lies. We are seeing this on a global level with authorities reporting far lower levels of radiation from the Japan nuclear disaster than are actually being found. The same is true of the volcano that has erupted in Chile where there is a fissure that is six miles long and three miles wide. Christchurch New Zealand has experienced a swarm of earthquakes in the last two days with yet more destruction, weakening of the infrastructure and thousands more left homeless. Yet, the government is still saying “we will rebuild.” Discerning the difference between truth and lies will be a challenge for all of us in the next eighteen months to come. This will affect us globally, nationally and on a personal basis.

Sagittarius is all about a quest for truth, adventure, travel, faith and an optimistic future. It represents the higher mind, education and expansion and the Lunar Eclipse can bring great fulfillment, a dream come true, or the release of some very heavy baggage, or a big ending that makes the way for something new and exciting. While the Moon is in Leo, the Sun is in Aquarius and the Full Moon is all about achieving the balance between the two signs. Aquarius and Leo are all about balancing our personal needs with the desires of others.

Aquarius is connected to the 11th house of friends, communities, groups and all our social networks. That includes all the popular and growing social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, forums, online groups, as well as the friends we make through blogs, articles and websites.

New Moon in Aquarius - what's great to do?

The worst thing you can possibly say to an Aquarian is “ you look just like someone I know…” They hate to be categorised with anyone else at all as they are individuals and therefore one-offs. Don’t lump them together. So in keeping with this energy of Aquarius, it’s time to be the unique individual that you are. Think about ways in which you really are different and don’t be afraid to speak out. My Aquarian friends sometimes make me hold my breath when I am out with them in public because you can never be quite sure what they will say because they don’t care what other people think. And of course, for a Libran who wants to keep everyone happy, an off the wall Aquarian comment can ruffle people’s feathers.

The New Moon at 13 degrees Aquarius on February 2nd 2011 is a time to begin new projects and thoughts for the coming month. This is especially timely as this New Moon brings in with it the start of the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit.

For me, this New Moon falls into my 8th house which will encourage me to come up with new ways of helping and advising people with their financial situation. It’s vital to come up with out of the box thinking right now because the economic situation globally is changing so quickly and new strategies and thinking are needed to maneuver around the potential pitfalls in this volatile climate. It’s a great opportunity for me to bring innovative ideas into my business or even to incorporate a new business. With it being so close to my Part of Fortune, it could mean that some of the new projects I have been working on for a while will start to come to fruition.

Is there a 13th sign of the zodiac??

Over the last couple of weeks, I have received many concerned emails, messages, texts and calls asking me about my take on the recent publicity hype about a 13th sign of the zodiac. I’ve decided to address some of these concerns so I can assure you that whatever sign you are has not changed.

Astrology is based on the seasons and the relationships between the planets and not what sign is located behind the Sun when you were born. The zodiac signs are symbols that divide the year into 12 different and equal parts. The Cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, for example, always herald a new season no matter where you are in the world. For example, Aries heralds the start of spring in the northern hemisphere and autumn in the southern hemisphere.

We associate the cardinal signs with being leaders and catalysts for change – and they reflect that in the changing of our seasons. Then the fixed signs – Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius – are all in the middle of the season – when the time is more settled and routines and regularity can be established. Finally, we have the mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces – and these are the restless signs that need change and variety and they also represent learning – and they lead back into the Cardinal signs which indicate a whole change of season and direction. That’s why we are feeling such big changes globally and personally right now in the world because many of the major planets are moving into Cardinal signs. This means that the time for procrastination is over and it’s time for action.

Astrology was developed by the Babylonians and during that time, the constellation of Aries happened to be situated right behind the sign Aries during the spring equinox. The actual star constellations are astrologically irrelevant to modern astrology. It is vital never to equate the signs of the zodiac with fixed star constellations. Fixed star constellations are configurations of stars that can be seen in the sky. Sun signs cannot be seen in the sky as they are mathematical divisions of the annual path of the Sun in the sky of exactly 30 degree size for each of the 12 signs.

Astrologers have known about the 13th constellation for eons. In the second century BC, the renowned astrologer and astronomer Ptolemy was fully aware of precession of the equinoxes. Still, he decided to give up star constellations and to let the zodiac begin with 0 degrees Aries. He did this because he believed that the actual constellations of fixed stars were not relevant for astrology and that the sun signs should be fixed at the cardinal points of the Sun’s annual path.

Astrologers have incorporated the earth’s wobble into their understanding of the connection between the stars and life on earth. If you have ever heard about the Age of Aquarius you may also know that this follows the Age of Pisces which was preceded by the Age of Aries. The Ages go backwards to compensate for the earth’s wobble.

So I hope this explains it for those of you who are still questioning whether you are a different sign. Relax, and know that nothing has changed. If you are an Aries you have not suddenly become a Pisces – I mean, how can a full blooded Aries possibly think twice about jumping into something exciting and new?? Gemini has not slipped back into being a Taurus. My Gemini friend is married to a Taurus, and he isn’t suddenly rushing around, jumping into new projects with great enthusiasm. He is still taking his time with everything and she has days when she feels as though she is dragging a ball and chain with her….but at least he brings stability into her life.

Enjoy the sign that you are and find out the ways of making best use of its energies. Panic over!

New Moon in Capricorn January 4th 2011 and Solar Eclipse

On January 4th there is a New Moon in Capricorn and a Solar Eclipse. This gives the energy of the New Moon a turbo charge so if you can make best use of these energies, your life can move forward more quickly and more successfully.

The New Moon is a time of rebirth, a time when you can start fresh.

What does the New Moon in Capricorn mean?

It’s a good time to:
- set practical goals
- recognize your responsibilities
- prepare for the future e.g. plan for a possible disaster and have a survival strategy in place
- develop self-discipline and self-mastery
- consider how you use resources – are you wasting things? Could you be more frugal and careful?
- How can I be more effective?
- How can I master the lessons that life is trying to teach me?
- Where am I trying to take short cuts and it isn’t working for me?
- Be sensible, think things through before you take action
- Look at new ways of managing your time more effectively – Capricorn rules time

Try to be real, see what is truly going on around you. This is an opportunity for you to begin to live authentically. Capricorn is all about hard work, being responsible, purposeful, methodical and having a strategy.

Your professional accomplishments, public reputation, issues of career advancement will receive priority during this time. You might want to think about your image, how you can be respected in your field, how you can become more organized. Be cautious about what you commit to and make sure you deliver your work on time.

The New Moon signifies a start of a new personal cycle each month. It’s a great time to renew or revise your goals. Try and see the big picture of your life. Don’t set unrealistic personal goals. Don’t have too many goals at once. Try to take stock of what your abilities and interests are as well as any realistic constraints that you may face.

In my chart, the New Moon falls in my 6th house of work. I am in the process of putting together a brand new website, a new structure for my business.

This Eclipse is also in Capricorn, the sign of business, industry, organizations, and government. There will be more news about changes in corporations, banks, and financial institutions. Because this eclipse is in the earth sign of Capricorn we may hear of financial problems, recessions, drought, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other earth changes in the news.

Depending on the part of your chart that is activated we can see which part of your life will be most affected. If you are a Capricorn almost every part of you life will be affected, but all of us will feel a shift of some sort coming on.
If the eclipse falls in your 1st or 7th houses, you will be working on yourself and your relationships. If it is in the 2nd or 8th houses, you will be focused on your money, your earnings and your joint finances. If it is in the 3rd or 9th houses it could be a year of travel or educational pursuits. In the 4th or 10th houses, you will be focusing on your home and your career. If it is in the 5th or 11th houses it could centre around your children if you have any, or your business if you are self employed, and it can involve your community at large. If it is in your 6th or 12th houses it could be about your work, your health and your inner growth.

Pisces 2011 Astrology Forecast

Uranus finally leaves your sign in March 2011 so the rollercoaster ride you have had for the last seven years may start to recede. Life starts to become more balanced and less dramatic.

Career and Money
You will want to learn much more about money than you ever have before. You will want to know how to make it and how to protect it. You should have no trouble making money, but your personal account may be subject to erratic changes until you learn how to manage your money wisely. If you choose well, you will have the opportunity to make a great deal of money this year. If you don’t choose wisely, you may sustain huge losses this year. This year has the potential to be very volatile financially but the end result will be up to you, how much you have learned and how well you deal with major financial decisions.

The big area of concern may have to do with your financial dealings with other people. Perhaps negotiations don’t move forward because you don’t understand what they are trying to do and how it affects you. If the venture has promise, it is important to sit down and discuss all your concerns and work out the details so that you are comfortable that it is equitable to everyone. You don’t want a favourable opportunity to pass you by.

If someone has been giving you money or supporting you financially, have you really been appreciating them? Conversely if you have been giving to someone else, have they been appreciating you? Or are you feeling resentful about what you are giving? Income that you may have relied on that has been steady in the past, may suddenly dry up. Your partner may lose their job. It is important that you become as independent financially as you can from someone else.

You may want to be free with your finances and you may want to start your own business and be free to set your own hours. You don’t want to find a job where you have to work within someone else’s rules. You might want to do something you have never done before. This would be a good time to expand what you do financially – look at different ways of attracting income to you – try to find several different streams of income. Don’t be extravagant – don’t spend without thinking first – with Uranus there – you may have sudden windfalls and sudden losses. Don’t overdo it.

In your work and career after March conditions will improve for you. Your ability to communicate pleasantly with others will work in your favour. People may give you business because of your charm and you may receive encouragement and compliments from others who appreciate your helpfulness.


Relationships
Friendships that have been shallow may just disappear because you will be looking for more intensity and depth in your relationships. Your goals and dreams will change dramatically – what was important is no longer important to you. One very important friendship may come into your life and change your life utterly during this period. Watch out for very powerful people coming into your life that want to control you.

Communications are very well aspected for the second part of the year, as well as travel and meeting people from foreign places.

If you are looking for a relationship, Venus is in Pisces, your sign, from the end of March and during April. This will be a very favourable time to meet someone and have a relationship with them. Mars is in your sign from the end of February until the beginning of April which will inject a boost of energy into you and will be a time when you can accomplish a great deal and you will be able to be more assertive.

Aquarius 2011 Astrology Forecast

This year promises gains and advances in all life areas. You will start to become much more realistic and this will serve you well in your work and your relationships.

Career and Money

You will have some good ideas and other will respond favourably to them. This may be a year when computers, software programmes, or training in anything connected with the media or technology, will advance your cause. Be willing to learn and be trained in new technologies. If you work for yourself, your products and services will be in greater demand. You are overall on the right path right now, but don’t miss an opportunity to request what you need from others to help you to move onto the next level.

This is a great year to undertake a serious course of study. You may have to travel for business rather than pleasure. It’s a great time to learn something new. Anything connected with science, technology and metaphysical subjects is well aspected. It’s a good time to think about earning your living through these areas. Don’t be too optimistic and try to be realistic with your plans so that you don’t feel disappointed if things don’t move as quickly as you expected. You will have a great boost in your mental abilities and the ideas you are coming up with have the potential to make you a great deal of money.

During the second part of the year, there may be a tendency to overstep your boundaries and reach into areas that you are not quite ready for. Use good judgment. Don’t overestimate how much you can do and don’t take on more than you can handle.

There will be instability with your finances this year. No sooner do you think you have a handle on your monies and then everything will change again and slip away from you. Capricorn 2011 Astrology Forecast

This is a big year for you which can feel incredibly empowering or it can feel like a threat to your very survival in terms of business, relationships and health. There may be sudden changes of plans and you will need to be patient and adaptable to changing circumstances.

Pluto is in your sign and many of you have been experiencing a breakdown of certain areas in your life since Pluto went into Capricorn in November 2008. This is giving you an opportunity to begin again. Maybe it’s been a letting go, maybe you have had a loss. You now need to find the inner strength as to how you will pick yourself up and move forward. What can be very helpful during these times is to study something like astrology or any of the metaphysical subjects to help give you a better understanding of the deeper levels inside you. Pluto will force you to renew yourself.

Career and Money
This year has great potential in business for you with many high points, but at the same time, the risk of sudden reversals. This will be a year when you may feel compelled to make major changes in your life. There will be many opportunities for success for you this year.

Career and Money
You will have many opportunities for growth in your work and in your finances. You may be offered a new position, or the opportunity to develop a new product or service that could be extremely successful. This could be a major break for you and lead to a period of rapid professional growth. However, you may need to relocate to access all these opportunities. If you are a writer, this is a great year to get published. If you are in sales, this should be very good year. Your charm and friendliness will work a treat on people and will open up doors for you.

This is a great time to learn as many new skills as you can, especially in anything connected with technology. You may find yourself teaching and training others. You will have the ability to draw money to you this year, but beware of your tendency to be overconfident and take on too many risks. That could be your downfall. Be aware of your limits and act within them. The danger is that once you start feeling really good and you don’t want any limits imposed on your activities.

You will need to pay attention to how you communicate with people. There is the possibility of misunderstandings and confusion. You must be especially careful with anything connected with negotiations. You might get misrepresented and misunderstood. If there is anything really important, make sure you get a couple of legal opinions before you sign contracts. With this aspect you have to be very careful. Scorpio 2011 Astrology Forecast

For many of you this will be a year of completions and endings. You may need to withdraw and analyse your behaviour and the results you have been getting in your life. Try to look forward and not so much back. Discard the things that really need to go.

Career and Money

This year will be erratic in regard to your work and finances. There will be opportunities to advance and to make more money, but it may not be clear that you can or want to do this. On the one hand, you seem to be gaining power and influence in what you are doing. If you have been working assiduously where you are, you will have made some progress. You may not want to leave and deal with unknown factors that could change your life right now.

Yet there will be opportunities for change and they may involve more money. The cost will be that you may have to give up that which you have just put carefully together. It might be a tough decision and there may be other people who are relying on your stability right now and you may have obligations to fulfill. You don’t want to risk losing that even if it means giving up a chance for earning more money.

For those of you who would like to be self employed this is a wonderful time for starting a new business. If you are already self employed this is a great year for expanding your business. It will not be a time to speculate in risky deals, but it is a time to promote your ideas, to network what you do. Anything with a creative or artistic bent has a great chance of success. Try to focus on doing what you enjoy and making a living from it. Focus on anything that gives you pleasure and that you feel passionate about. This would be the year to create a business from your passion.

You will need more freedom in your work area – feeling as though you need to break out – you will be saying that you cannot stand authority figures, you cannot stand being told what to do – you will be craving for a break from it all – to do things your own way. Be careful that you don’t lead to your own demise where you get thrown out of your job. Many of you will find that work will be erratic and will come and go. You will have a job for a while and then it may disappear. Be prepared to do temp work, part time work or be prepared to develop your own business.

It would also be a good year to do anything in your community – volunteering, helping, being of service. This could lead to paid work as long as you don’t do it with that intention at the outset.

Relationships
If you are married or are in a stable relationship, for the most part things should go smoothly. If you are not in a committed relationship and you would like to be, you may receive a serious proposal this year. It could work well as long as you don’t ascribe qualities to that person that they don’t really have. You have a tendency to put on rose coloured glasses when you are “in love” and you don’t see the person as they really are. Only later on do you come back to earth with a bump. See the person for who they are and don’t try to change them.
